Welcome - Welcome to the 2005 BYU Alumni Races Information Page. This is the first opportunity to see the 2005 BYU Men's and Women's Cross Country teams! We will have some fun, low-key races with the Men's and Women's teams and our Alumni.
Location - The meet will be run on the Intramural Fields west of Lavell Edwards Stadium (football).
Time Schedule - The meet will start at 8:30 p.m. with the Men's 4 Mile, followed by the Women's 5K at 9:00 pm. This is a great chance to run with friends under the lights!
Kids Races - Alumni and athletes: Bring your family! After the two races and before the watermelon, we will run a few kids races, just for fun! We will have two kids races, a half lap and a full lap. If there is interest a longer race could be added.
Registration - Please arrive early to get registered. We hope to be able to organize a couple of alumni teams. Early arrival will help. Be sure to talk to any alumni that you still have contact with and invite them to participate! We are working on a handicap system that will make the races a little more fair. Some of us take up a little more space than we used to!
Alumni Handicaps! - To better even the field, the alumni athletes will be given a head start over the collegiate athletes. The following table indicates the amount of time of their head start. The handicap is to cover age and conditioning factors. Now there is no excuse! Our thanks to Iain Hunter, Ph D, for his calculations in determining the handicaps.
