The 2016 BYU Autumn Classic Cross Country Invitational will be held on Saturday, September 3rd, on the BYU Campus Cross Country Course.

College Teams - The collegiate races will feature: BYU, Weber State, and Utah Valley.

High School Teams - All high school teams in the state have again been invited to participate.

Races - The collegiate men will run a 4 Mile; the women and high schools will run a 3 Mile.

Course at BYU -   The start of the BYU course is on the grass warm-up field to the north of the track, the finish is in front of the main grandstand.  It also includes the warm-up field, the outfield of the baseball side of Miller Park and the grass corridor between the track and Miller Park.  Each loop is exactly 1 mile.  The course has a number of excellent features.  The surface is all grass and track, with 70 - 80% of the course grass.  All pathways near the baseball field are covered so that competitors can wear spikes.  The finish of the races will be at the main finish line in front of the grandstand.  The features of the complex include: seating for 3000+ spectators with a view of 70% of the course, the scoreboard, sound system, full bathrooms and concessions.

Timing - Timing and results by RunnerCard.  The timing for this year will again feature transponder timing.  We will collect times at the completion of each 1 mile lap as the runners cross the finish line, in addition to the final time.  Each finisher will receive a personal RunnerCard at the end of the race.  Results will be posted at the meet and web posted that same day.

Spikes - Spikes are allowed, limited to 1/4" pyramids.  No pin spikes or Christmas trees.  Athletes will only be allowed to run if their spikes have been checked and approved. Each athlete will have to receive a zip tie that will be placed on their laces to show that their shoes have been approved for the course.  Spike will be available for purchase at the meet.

Spike  Check-in - All athletes must check in at the north pavilion before their race to have their spikes checked.  Each athlete will be issued a small zip tie to place on their shoes, indicating that they have passed the spike check.  No athlete will be allowed to race without the zip tie on their shoes.  The track is less than a year old.  We need to protect the surface from illegal spikes.  Thanks for your support!

Spectator Admission - Entrance to the Autumn Classic is $5.  Children 5 and under are free.  Any youth athlete age 14 and under that wears their track or cross country uniform is admitted free!
